Group Therapy Jazz Quintet


Saxophonist Sean Flannery has been a performer and educator in the Eugene area for 20 years. He has toured extensively as a member of the rock/swing group the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, played as a sideman for salsa band Caliente, Disco revival outfit Satin Love Orchestra, Soul/R&B group The Essentials, spot-on Pink Floyd revival band The Floydian Slips, 70's soft rockers Candy Apple Blue, and local big bands The Emerald City Jazz Kings and Swing Shift. Sean has played with contemporary jazz artists such as Dick Oatts, Rich Perry, and Michael Weiss of the Village Vanguard Orchestra, trumpeters Ron Miles and Paul Mazzio, and saxophone master Donny McCaslin.

He is currently a Graduate Teaching Fellow in jazz performance under the guidance of Steve Owen at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. His first jazz album, 4, 3, 2, Go! has just been completed and released.
