A Revolution From The Heart of Nature: National Forum on Health, Community and Global Transformation comes to Oregon.
The famed Bioneers Conferencethe preeminent gathering of environmental visionaries with practical solutions for our most pressing environmental and social issuesconvenes October 15-17, 2004. Combining the national conference with a network of 15 regional citiesthis innovative program is seeking to use sustainable means to return to local communities, regions and economics.
This year, citizens of the northwest will have the opportunity to stay close to their community while attending the Oregon Bioneers Conference at the Lane Community College Center for Meeting and Learning. This event, and the presenting “Biological Pioneers” herald a dawning age of interdependence founded in natural principles of diversity, kinship, community, cooperation and reciprocity.
The Oregon Bioneers Conference and 14 other cities connect live via satellite to the 15th Annual Bioneers Conference Plenary Speakers at the Marin Center in San Rafael, CA. Each bioregional gathering highlights the15 plenary presenters while additionally focusing on regional needs, workshops, presenters, forums, dialog and, in Oregon, northwest solutions. Some workshops offered and compelling regional issues being addressed include; Building Community Collaborations, The Human Energy Field, Consciousness-Action-Cosmic Politics, Art and Ecology, Media Innovations, Permaculture and many more presenters focusing on concerns related to land preservation, personal and planetary healing and our global future.

Because this work ranges from science to spirit - local to global - academia to the grassroots - farm to city - business to public service - art to engineering - it becomes clear that the need for the restoration of the Earth's imperiled ecosystems and the healing of our human communities become the central focus. Here, extraordinary human creativity, focused on problem solving, explodes the mythology of despair. The Bioneers focus primarily on the creative social strategies that can help us realize solutions to restore community, justice and democracy.
An example of unique local programming that offers such solutions includes the Oregon Bioneers Youth Initiative. Intergenerational dialogues including scholarships for high school youth to attend will focus on empowering youth and creating connections to elders and the future environment of hope. Continuing Education Credits (CEU's) will also be available for educators interested in a fertile network, rich with inspiring ideas, models, tools and resources.
Additionally, local organic meals will be available as well as opportunities for good music and lots of laughs and fun. Ultimately, creating space for all citizens including youth, elders and educators with the intent to cultivate an earth-honoring culture that creates conditions conducive to life will bring northwest citizens together to share in the celebration of the 15th Annual Bioneers Conference.
