Due to the fact we are nestled between the Coastal and Cascade mountain range, we have many attractions within about an hours drive. Approximately 1 1/2 hours from Downtown Eugene, Oregon is Clear Lake. Located at milepost 72.4, this beautiful lake forms the headwaters of the McKenzie River. Crystal clear waters with a maximum depth of 200 feet and an average water temperature of 43 degrees year-around.
The lake lies behind a natural dam created by lava flows almost 3,000 years ago. Large petrified trees dated at approximately 3,000 years are submerged upright in the lake and are clearly visible to boaters (non-motorized only) above.
Camping is available at Coldwater Cove Campground, located near the South end of the lake. Clear Lake Resort has rental cabins available. Reservations are not necessary unless your plans are for a holiday weekend or during a school vacation.
Sahalie Falls is just below Clear Lake
above the McKenzie River Valley.
